Frederick Richard Klein of Sebastian, Florida, born June 21, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York, passed away peacefully on October 24th at the age of 88.
He spent 6 years in the United States Army and 22 years as a Suffolk County New York Policeman and retired as a Det/Sgt. He and his wife, Phoebe, raised their family on Long Island in Center Moriches, New York, and moved to Sebastian in January of 1986 upon retiring. As a member of the IPA (International Police Association) he hosted in his home many policemen from England, and, in turn, was hosted in their homes. He loved the IPA and made many friends here and abroad.
Fred, A/K/A "Freddie the Frog" loved life, loved to socialize, loved to travel, and many called him a "piece of work". He was a loving father and husband.
Fred was married to Phoebe Burdick on May 29th, 1963 and they spent 54 happy years together. Fred is survived by his loving wife, Phoebe, his son, Frederick Richard Klein, Jr., his daughter, Suzanne Klein Badley and husband Marc of Vero Beach, his daughter, Elizabeth Klein Senif and husband Chris, of Melbourne Beach, and his grandchildren, Alexandra Beuttell and Haley Beuttell of Vero Beach and Starke Senif and Nicholas Senif of Melbourne Beach, his stepson, Donald Klein and wife, Debara, and their children, Eddie Klein and Katie Klein of Southington, CT, his stepdaughter, Diane Cicogna, and her children, Jennifer and Christina of Commack, NY.
The family would like to thank the VNA for his care at the end. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the VNA Hospice Foundation, 110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, Fl 32960.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Frederick's life by gathering at Seawinds Funeral Home, 735 Fleming Street, Sebastian, Fl 32958 on Sunday, November 12th at 1:30 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:30 pm in the chapel. He will be laid to final rest in the near future at Arlington National Cemetery.

I know Fred will be missed immensely by his beloved family. He was fun, jolly, and larger than life. He loved his family and was a good man.
