Robert Parmelee, Sr.

On Friday, January 22, 2021, Robert Parmelee, Sr., loving husband and father of two children, passed away at age 76. Bob was born on October 14, 1944 in San Francisco, CA to Donald and Libby (Wexler) Parmelee. He received his Masters Degree in Education from Western Michigan University, and was a teacher at Harper Creek Public Schools in Battle Creek for 33 years. On July 1, 1967, he married Sylvia Johnson. They raised a son, Robert, Jr. and a daughter, Christina. Bob, along with his wife, was a wedding photographer for 35 years and took pictures at many weddings for couples in Calhoun County, Michigan. He enjoyed tennis, golf, boating, playing music, and travel. Bob enjoyed serving in the audio/visual ministry at Westside Church in Fort Pierce, FL, had faith in Jesus, and lived his life with integrity. He inspired many others with his quiet strength and humility. He split his time between Battle Creek, MI and Fort Pierce, FL, where he died of COVID and related pneumonia. He also fought Multiple Myeloma for years (and was winning). Bob was preceded in death by his father, Donald, his mother, Libby, his brother Alexander Kogen, and his sister, Marion Zeller. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia, children, Robert, Jr., and Christina, grandchildren Emmanuelle, Derek, Jesse, and James Parmelee, and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Aycock Funeral Home, 6026 US-1, Fort Pierce, FL, at 2:00pm. The service will also be live streamed on the internet via Aycock Funeral Home's Facebook page. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to your favorite charity.

What a fine gentleman. an inspiration to all. Harper Creek 1962, he was a classmate and I appreciated him very much. Covid does not discriminate, or he would still be with us.
