My mother worked in the office of the Montgomery Company for many years both before her marriage and after her children reached high school. She greatly admired all the Montgomery family and we heard many complimentary comments about them. Spencer was particularly good to my mom during the long illness and passing of my father, Henry. I can remember him stopping by on Friday nights to drop off her check and to say 'hello' to my dad. He was a great man who really cared about people and their welfare.

Mary Ellen, Rick, I am saddened by your Dad's passing - but what a fascinating and wonderful life in so many varied directions. What fun he and your Mom must have had accomplishing that much in "a hundred short years"! I suspect they're off to their next adventure, together again.

Spenny was one of the most interesting people I have ever met. I enjoyed his sense of humor and his genuine friendliness. He will be missed.
