Alden always had something kind to say. Whenever we would spend time together, he always said he enjoyed the company. I always felt there was something special between us, particularly in the most recent years. I was very fond of him. I will remember his patience; the way he took his time to smell the roses. I feel that he was his happiest in his retirement, cooking for us and our kids when we would come visit for Shabbat dinner, having time to go to the Jetties to watch the sunset with mom from inside their car, cooking tons of corned beef for the annual food festival in Venice, enjoying the new friendships he made in Florida and relishing those that he and mom maintained and treasured from their childhood. Dad was good hearted, always asked about the kids, was able to model true love, and always made you feel appreciated. Dad, I will miss you.
