Brother Dailey held meetings at the Fairfield Church of Christ when I was in grammar and high school. He was an interesting preacher, and he was really popular with us kids. He always noticed us, and would talk to us. The members of the Church liked him and were always happy when he would hold a meeting. His wife, Mary, was a cousin of my Cousin Mary Wright, who was a member of the Fairfield Church of Christ. He had a Nash four-door car, and one night I was riding with Mary and Him, and he told me Cadillac paid Nash royalties to use the Nash ventilation system. Emory Couch said Brother Dailey was really smart, because his eyebrows grew together just above his nose. Emory wasn't all that religious, but he sure was impressed by Brother Dailey. I remember Brother Dailey with fondness.

Clarence was the minister at the Union Avenue Church of Christ while I was a student at UT Health Sciences Center in the late 70's. Clarence enabled me, for the first time in my life, to see God as a Heavenly Father who had great love and compassion for his earthly children. I am forever grateful for your dad's commitment to tell of, & show, God's love to the world.... as understanding that I did not have to be "perfect" to be a Christian changed my life.

Your father/grandfather left you a wonderful legacy that I know you are so proud of. May each of you truly feel God's love and compassion for you over the days and weeks ahead, and may you always feel your father/grandfather's love remaining with you.

With deepest sympathy in your loss,
Patricia Carlson

Brother Dailey baptised me in the creek during a gospel meeting at the Fairfield Church of Christ when I was about 11 or 12 years old. I am now 80 years old. He held many, many meetings at Fairfield.
