When Pat indicated that she wanted me as her friend, I felt very flattered. I had known her causally for a number of years. but it was a luncheon at the Centennial Club when I mentioned to the group which which I was seated that I was going to the Swan Ball because my niece was a chairman. I had a sari I had gotten in India but didn't have a clue how to wrap it. Pat spoke up and said that she knew how to do that and would help me. As they say the rest was history. She was interesting and kind and fun and I adored her!

I went to church with the Burtons at Brookmeade Congregation. I knew even as a kid that Mr Burton was an icon. I wanted to be an interior designer because of him. Mrs Burton was a strong yet very gentle woman. I always felt comfortable and safe in her presence.I have great memories of all of the Burton kids. What a great family Much love Megan Daugherty

The measure of an individual's life cannot be summed up in a collection of words. And so the enormity of the presence of Pat Burton in my life cannot be captured in these short sentences. She will be missed enormously but with me spiritually always.

While circumstances understandably prevent a celebration of Pat Burton's remarkable life, we can celebrate her daily if we but recall her gesture of generosity offered with outstretched and open hands.

Words cannot capture the enormity of her presence in my life. She will be missed enormously but always with me spiritually as friend and life's companion.

While circumstances understandably prevent a gathering in celebration of her life, each can celebrate Pat Burton daily if we but endeavor to address the world's contentiousness with open hands.
