Dudley Looney Obituary

Dudley S. Looney

Nashville - 83, born in Nashville on August 13, 1935, to the late Horace and Louise Giles Looney, passed away March 14, 2019. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of almost 30 years, Ruth-Ann Looney; his children of whom he was incredibly proud, Jeff (Vicki), Stephany (Jeff) Wren and Paul (Ana); his grandchildren, Stewart (fiancé Alyssa), Allison (Matthew) Rickett, Joseph (Nicole), Matthew and Sam; 3 great-grandchildren, Levi, Lily and Luca; 2 brothers, Ronnie (Linda) and Jerry (Sonya); as well as numerous other family members and friends. Dudley was a 1954 graduate of Hume Fogg Tech. He planned an annual reunion for his classmates for the last 15 years. After serving three years in the U.S. Army, he completed the 5-year Electrical Apprenticeship Program, also at Hume Fogg, and worked as an electrician, estimator, service manager, and business owner for more than 35 years. In addition to his family and friends, Dudley loved his church, where he served as a trustee, golf, being on or around lakes and oceans, their '63 corvette, and several fur babies. Visitation will be held at South End United Methodist Church, 5042 Edmondson Pike, Nashville, from 11:00-1:00 on Saturday, March 16, with the funeral service at 1:00. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Dudley's memory to South End UMC.
