GUTIERREZ, Armand Armand Alfonzo Gutierrez, age 91, of Mesquite, TX, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2020. The youngest of 6 children, Armand was born to Amado Gutierrez and Guadalupe Ontiveros in New Orleans, LA in 1929. Armand was a Korean war veteran, and was honorably discharged in 1954. He received his J.D. law degree from Loyola University, New Orleans, LA in 1952 and attended JAG school in Virginia. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Catherine H. Gutierrez, 7 children: Susana McDowell, Maria Albright (Pat Noll), Paul Gutierrez (Mary Ellen), Eddie Gutierrez (Mitzie), Margaret Rose (John), Patrick Mitchell (Tami), John Gutierrez (Kathleen) and 23 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Pauline Hoffman Gutierrez; son, Armand Gutierrez; parents, and bothers, Amado, Jr., George, Ralph, and Gilbert Gutierrez, and sister, Aida Gutierrez Rodriguez. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation and reception on Fri, Oct. 9 from 6-8pm at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Sat, Oct. 10 at 11am, also at the funeral home. A graveside service will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, 3900 Rowlett Rd, Rowlett, TX. Social distancing will be maintained; masks and hand sanitizer will be available. Live-streaming services will be provided through Facebook Live.
