Richard Etsell Obituary

Etsell, Richard D. "Dick"
Aug 20, 1942 - Mar 26, 2021
Richard D. "Dick" Etsell, 78 of Longboat Key, FL passed away peacefully on March 26, 2021. Dick was born in Stoneham, MA on August 20, 1942. During his full and vibrant life, Dick proudly served in the Army, was an avid traveler, enjoyed walks on the beach, and loved motorcoaching in his later years. Being a devoted Mason and Shriner himself, Dick built a business for the purpose of serving Shrine fraternities which has continued successfully for nearly 50 years serving over 30 Shrine Centers in 11 states and other charities along the way. His company and its purpose were his lifelong passion.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents Gordon and Rita Etsell, sister Susan Chandler and brothers Kenny Etsell and Pete Etsell. Left to cherish his memory are his sister Karen of Orleans, MA, nieces, nephews, and great nieces as well as many friends and longtime employees who considered Dick family. His loved ones give special thanks to Dick's caregivers, especially Joseph for the humble compassionate care and friendship he gave Dick these last few years.
As were Dick's wishes, no service is planned, and his remains will be interred at Sarasota National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shriners Hospital for Children in his memory. Please visit www.toalebrothers.com to leave a condolence message.
