My earliest memories were of Uncle Richie and Aunt Polly at my grandmother's house when Cathy was a baby. Both of them were awesome people and lots of fun too! The world is a much better place for them having been on it and despite their being on the other side of the continent, they often came for visits, funerals and family reunions and it was always a joyous time. I'm coming down to pay my respects and hopefully, to hear lots of stories celebrating his life and that of his beloved Polly.

As a child, I remember being somewhat overwhelmed and frightened out of sheer respect for Dr. Valeriote. Usually, we might be confronted by him while in the midst of some imbecilic activity that Pat and I were prone to. His compassion and care always shined through as he patiently listened to our absurd explanations of whatever it was we were up to. As I grew into an adult, my perspective of him matured and I remember engaging in fascinating and insightful conversations about God and faith.
Dr. Valeriote was extremely inquisitive and always a joy to speak with. He imbued care and confidence in whomever he engaged with and always left you feeling uplifted and with thoughts and ideas to ponder. His impact upon our little town of Fairfield was one of significance and he will.be remembered and missed by many!

I knew Dr. Valeriote in the 1960s and 1970s. He was the family doctor. My family--the Gracyk family in Fairfield--had the greatest respect for him. My parents always spoke highly of him, and I also respected him when I was his patient as a youngster. He helped me with skin cancer and other health problems. He was an outstanding role model for all Fairfield residents. My brothers and I have fond memories of him.

I met Dr. Valeriote in Vacaville about 11 years ago when he was visiting his son. I am a gardener and was complaining about a sore back he at once dined his the physician cap and evaluated me he asked me to bend over and touch the ground which I did quite easily he said you don´t really have any back problems just try to rest and don´t over strain it. Very sound advice and correct. I was privileged enough to get an autographed copy of "Alice St" at that time also, which I still cherish. He was a very kind and straightforward man and I send our deepest condolences to the entire Valeriote family.

Dr. Valeriote was an extraordinary man. He never failed to take a call from me when one of my children was sick. He was kind, gentle and patient. My condolences to the whole Valeriote family .

Beautiful tribute, Chris. It's amazing to think of all that he accomplished in his life. Yeah when I visited your home, he always seems like a quiet and humble man always asked about my family as we had three or four kids who are in the same class with you and your brothers and sisters . My thoughts are with all of the Valaria family

I am honored to share these first thoughts of my father. He was a man among men who could talk with crowds and keep his virtue, but still walk with kings and not lose the common touch. His was a flicking light of brilliance that embodied his faith in his God and his conviction to his family. He was at all times an unfaltering father to me. He was at all times a loving and devoted husband to my mother. An great chasm now divides us from him. He will be forever missed.
