Rose Lee "Boots" (Tempel) Cox

Evansville, Ind.

Rose Lee "Boots" (Tempel) Cox, 93 of Evansville, Indiana died on February 1, 2019 at University Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She entered the world on September 20, 1925, the youngest of 9 children born to Bertha (Meyer) and Oscar Tempel.

She graduated from Memorial High School in 1943. Following high school, Rose Lee went to work as a receptionist for various places including Burch Plow Works and Park Lawn Cemetery. Rose Lee and Bob Cox were married on June 10, 1961. Park Lawn was where Rose Lee and Bob worked together until their retirement.

She was a lovely lady with a beautiful smile and a wonderful Aunt. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Rose Lee is survived by her nieces and nephews, Mary (Tempel) Schroeder, Rev. Ted Tempel, Jane Gerbitz, Cathy Adams, Edward Tempel, Judy Norrington, Michael Tempel, Paula Goatley, Tim Goatley, Donna (Millay) Montgomery, Jackie Millay, David Millay, and Rev. Jeff Millay.

Rose Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Cox who passed away in 2011, and all of her family; her parents, Oscar and Bertha; her siblings, Gilbert, Heine, Oscar, Jr., Edward (twins one was still born), Mary Ann and Berdie; and her nieces and nephews, Ann (Tempel) Eagan, John Goatley, Bob Tempel and Henry Jay Tempel.

Friends may visit from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at University Nursing and Rehabilitation and again from 10:00 AM until service time on Friday.

A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 8, 2019 in the Chapel at University Nursing and Rehabilitation, 1236 Lincoln Ave., Evansville, IN, 47714. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice or St. Vincent de Paul, Father Ted Crisis Fund, 809 N. Lafayette Ave., Evansville, IN 47711 or St. Benedict Cathedral, 1328 Lincoln Ave., Evansville, IN 47714.
