Tammy Patrick Obituary

PATRICK, Tammy Faye Tammy Faye Patrick, 63, of Garland, Texas, entered the presence of her heavenly Father on Friday, March 26, 2021, joining her loving parents John and Bonita Patrick, grandparents, and other family and friends waiting for her there. Tammy was born in Longview, Texas, and lived in Garland since the age of 5. She graduated from South Garland High School and, after working several years as a teacher's aide with special needs children, she earned her Bachelor's degree in Education from Texas A & M Commerce and continued working many years for the Garland Independent School District. Her career and passion was teaching, guiding, and caring for young children, particularly those who were underprivileged and had special needs. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Garland. Gregarious and adventurous, Tammy loved life, fun, family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, camping, gatherings with friends and family, and a variety of new experiences. She was loud and loving, boldly honest and caring, and had a special way of keeping connections with extended family and lifelong friends. With faith in God and her indomitable spirit, Tammy fought with courage to the end, but her earthly body could not keep up with her huge zest for life.Tammy's exuberance will be greatly missed by her numerous close and precious friends; sisters Penny Gunn, Patricia and brother-in-law John Oxton, and Alisa Bird; nieces and nephews Sarah and husband, Saul Casimiro, Austin Lynch, Tyler Oxton, Natalie Bird, Amanda Gunn, and Elizabeth Bird; grand-nieces and nephew Anabelle, Victoria, Elijah, and Elliana Casimiro; Aunt and Uncle Barbara and Don Stubblefield; and many cousins and extended family. The family wishes to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Tammy's caregivers, friends, and devoted cousin, Terri Cox who helped care for her physically, emotionally, and in many other ways. A graveside memorial service in Gladewater, Texas, will be held at a later date where Tammy's earthly remains will be laid to rest beside her mother and father. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Children's Cancer Fund in Dallas, Texas at childrenscancerfund.com.
