Born September 16, 1921 in Elmira NY, the daughter of the late Leonard C. and Helen (Weyhenmeyer) Gleckler, passed away peacefully January 9, 2017 at the age of 95. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 61 years, Frederick A. Stone. Surviving are her son, Philip A. "Phil" (Michele) Stone; along with their children, Robert and Peter; great grandson, Thatcher; close relatives, William and Linda Hoffman and William Warner; close friend, Pam Tuller; and special friend, Carol Van Duzen, who assisted Helen in many ways since Fred's passing. Helen graduated from No. 11 School, Elmira Free Academy, and Elmira Business Institute. She worked at the Horseheads holding point during WWII before joining the Veterans Administration in Bath, NY. Helen was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church of Elmira, St. Thomas' Episcopal Church in Bath, NY, and also a member of the Elmira Junior League. At Helen's request there will be no public services. Internment will take place privately at the convenience of the family at St. Thomas' Episcopal Church's Columbarium in Bath, NY. Her tribute wall may be signed at www.olthof.com.
