So sad to read of Wendy's passing, lots of fun to work with at East Sector even though I always called her Bev (as i was in Bev's class at school) she was a very caring and fun loving person. Rest peacefully Wendy

Dearest cousin you will be missed. Your parents George and Margaret were a big part of our mother Edna's life and as kids became adults you played a big role in keeping these loving relationships going in our generation and beyond. Warmth, fun, great conversation and an interest in others, always, were your generous gifts to us.

On thinking about Wendy, I realise that she went out of her way to make life happier for people she knew.

Dear Wendy, what a sad surprise to hear this. We always got such uplift from your sense of humour and delightful infectious laugh. Have been blessed to have known you. Helen Bush

I had not seen Wendy for a number of years, but we were in the Takaka book group together. I was the youngest of our group, and was regularly impressed with Wendy's calm, kind, patient way of expressing her opinion and perspective. She was exceedingly intelligent, emotionally and intellectually. She was progressive in her thinking, and a force for social good. I thought of her on Saturday, as I walked past her old home in Golden Bay. I didn't know she had died, and I recalled her vivacious laugh and the her expression, as she would take a little moment, before she spoke.
Goodbye dear Wendy. I send my love to your family and wish them ease at this difficult time. X

I have known Wendy from when I was invited to join the Book club. She brought very interesting points to the discussions, was very well read and she had a wicked sense of humor. She left a big gap in our community when she moved to Christchurch and an even bigger one now. My heart is with Wendy's family.

I was touched the day you came to help me clean my daughter, Fiona's opshop
silver for her picnic reception on our beach after her wedding there. You were a very generous warm-hearted person - every social occasion was much more fun when you were part of it. Thank you for all of it, Wendy.
