Annabelle Daze Gremillion, 98, a native and resident of Napoleonville, LA passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. A visitation will be held in her honor on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Landry's Funeral Home, Napoleonville, LA from 10:45am-11:45am with the Mass of Christian Burial following at 12:00pm (noon) at St. Anne Catholic Church. The burial will follow in church cemetery. She is survived by her two sons, Hubert "Sonny" Gremillion, Jr. and wife, Skie, and Christopher E. Gremillion; grandchildren, Jordy Gremillion, Jake Gremillion, and Mekail McDonald and husband, Lane; great-grandchildren, Levi McDonald and Ozzie McDonald. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert A. Gremillion, Sr.; son, Gregory P. Gremillion; father, Philip Daze, Sr.; mother, Aline D. Daze; and siblings, Joyce Faucheaux, Aline Prejean, Doris Herald, Philip Daze, Jr., Allen Daze, Paul Daze, and Henry Daze. Annabelle was born on a southern plantation south of Napoleonville, LA on December 31, 1922. She was educated in Assumption Parish and attended business college in Baton Rouge, LA. She was first employed by the Veterans Administration in Napoleonville, LA and started as a clerk at Assumption Bank and Trust in the 1940s. She continued to work there for the next 40 years and retired as a vice president. She was member of St. Anne's Catholic Church Ladies Alter Society and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Over the years, while still working, she and her husband raised her sons, and traveled on summer vacations from Grand Isle to the Smoky and Rocky Mountains. She enjoyed gardening, going to the casino, walking around the neighborhood, and had a love for a hot French bread, coconut cake, angel food cake, and peanut butter. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Keith Landry and staff, Assumption Parish Counsel on Aging, Assumption Healthcare Center, Cardinal Hospice (Jessica Blanchard, David Mullins, Jimmy Wolmack, Kathy Corbin, Kim Morales, and Cynthia Daggs), and Thibodaux Regional Home Health. The family would also like to especially thank the incomparable Cheryl Walker; caretaker, Reneisha Horton; devoted friends, Paul Guedry and Summer Boudreaux; and Eucharistic Minister volunteers, Tatty Gaudet, Darla Campo, and Chris Torres.
