Lorene was my Mother-in-law. She was a wonderful and loving lady.
There is a song by Toby Keith called Crying For Me. The lyrics are very moving. One verse says, You showed me how to live, Now you have showed me how to die.
That kind of sums up my feelings at this time. There is a lifetime of Lorene memories that serve as a guide for me and others to live by. She loved doing for and taking care of others. To the very end of her life she was still checking to make sure we were eating well and resting. She loved to have a good time. After returning from her monthly trips to the Gulf Coast, she could talk for hours about her favorite machines, describing in detail where they were located and how she played them.
And now, she showed me how to die with grace and dignity, surrounded by a loving family that cherished each moment of that time.
