Cynthia Melugin Brecheen, a native of Ascension Parish & a resident of East Baton Rouge Parish, passed away on February 7, 2019, at home surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 66. She retired from LA DOTD after 34 years of service. She is survived by her son, Jody Paul Melugin; siblings, Patricia Hima & husband George, Johnnie Melugin Jr. & wife Jeannine, Michael Melugin Sr. & wife Cindy; stepchildren, Lisa Payne & husband Jay, & Lee Brecheen; step-grandson, Zack Payne & wife Delaina; step-granddaughter, Jamisyn Payne. She was known as Nannie to many, but especially to all her nieces & nephews, Larry Babin, Rachel Campo, Michael Jr., Joshua & Meghan Melugin; & MawMaw Nannie to all her great-nieces & great-nephews, Christa Clift, Hannah Puryear, Gabriel & Noah Babin, Landon, Jaycee & Jaydon Campo, Alyse, Kane & Dani Melugin. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Brecheen & her parents, Johnnie "Pat" & Gloria Melugin. Family & friends are invited to attend visitation, which will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Sunday, February 10, 2019, from 5:00PM to 8:00PM. Visitation will resume at Greenoaks Funeral Home, on Monday, February 11, 2019, from 9:00AM until the time of funeral services at 10:00AM. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.

We would like to extend our deepest sympathy to all of Cynthia's family and close friends, as we know she had many. She always greeted us with that big smile and a big hello!
