Donald M. Jewell, 67, of Reynoldsville, Pa., died on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Born Friday, Aug. 7, 1949, in DuBois, Pa., he was a son of the late Leland S. Jewell and the late Gloria Dolly (Guthrie) Jewell. He was the husband of Linda P. (Londan) Jewell. She survives.
He was a SAL member of the Reynoldsville American Legion Post #392, a member of both the Falls Creek and Reynoldsville Eagles, a lifetime member of the A.B.A.T.E. Chapter 14 and a member of Jefferson County Senior Volunteer Corps.
He played bass guitar and sang in the band Loose Nuts. He preformed at the Reynoldsville Foundry, Jefferson Manor, Laurelbrooke Assisted Living and Sundays at Soldier Community Church.
He was a former employee of Denison Brothers in Reynoldsville. He retired from Brockway Glass, after working there for 46 years. He later worked two years for ATA as a driver.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughters, Lori Lea Jewell Smith and Lisa Lynn Jewell Park (Brian); sister, Gail Jewell York (Glenn); grandsons, Devin L. Smith (Anna) and Tyler J. Smith; great-grandsons: Conner L., Diesel C. and Jaxson M. McKinney Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by one brother, Leland D. Jewell Sr.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, 2017, at Soldier Community Church, located at 846 Reynoldsville-Sykesville Road, Reynoldsville, PA 15851, with the Rev. Kevin Brooks officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017, at Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., 206 E. Main Street, Reynoldsville, Pa.
