Irene M. Keister, age 93, a longtime Main Street, Brockway, resident, currently a resident at Highland View Health Care in Brockway, died on Monday, April 10, 2017, at Highland View.
Born on Jan. 10, 1924, in Buffalo, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late James and Marion Nelson Kent. Irene was married to Klahr J. Keister and he preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 1999.
She was a homemaker.
Irene was a member of the Moorhead United Methodist Church in Brockway and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Her greatest enjoyment in life was not only visiting with her family, but visiting and talking to people anywhere she went.
She is survived by two daughters, Peggy (Rob) Morrison and Patti (John) Marnati, both of Brockway; four grandsons: J. Travis Marnati of Virginia Beach; Matt (Michele) Marnati of Honolulu, Hawaii; Ryan (Nancy) Morrison of Brockway and Jeff (Gail McLaughlin) Morrison, also of Brockway. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be today, Wednesday, April 12, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A funeral service will follow at 4 p.m., also at the funeral home, with Pastor Bob Trask officiating. Burial will be in the Wildwood Cemetery at Brockway.
