Marjorie L. (Kirker) Kriner, age 94, of DuBois, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2016, at Jefferson Manor.
Marjorie was born on April 14, 1922, in DuBois, the daughter of the late Franklin and Nora (Shriver) Kirker.
She was a graduate of the DuBois High School class of 1940.
On March 30, 1941, she married Reuben Kriner, who passed away in January 2000. They lived on a farm in the Stanley Bottom area before moving to Big Run in 1958. Later, they moved to St. Michael's Terrace in DuBois. Most recently, she resided at Jefferson Manor in Brookville.
She spent most of her life in the medical field as a nurse's aide, then as a L.P.N. with 30 years at the Maple Avenue and DuBois Hospitals.
While living in Big Run she became a volunteer for the Punxsutawney Red Cross Bloodmobile, Meals on Wheels, and was a member of the Big Run Fire Company Auxiliary. Along with her husband, they were the owners of Little Canada Bar in Big Run for several years.
She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge. She enjoyed ceramics, visiting with friends and relatives, and especially enjoyed sleepovers with her grandchildren.
She is survived by five children: Mary (Gene) White of DuBois, Richard (Urada) Kriner of Cortez, Colo., LeRoy (Carol) Kriner of DuBois, Frank (Alice) Kriner of Canton, Ohio, and Blair Kriner of Big Run; nine grandchildren: Whitney (Joe) Domitrovich of DuBois, Chuck (Rhonda) White of DuBois, Randy Kriner of DuBois, Jeff Kriner of Blossburg, Pa., Richie (Julie) Kriner of Arizona, Michael Kriner of Arizona, Doug (Tina) Kriner of Canton, Ohio, Pam (Craig) Wadsworth of Canton, Ohio, and Lacie (Richard) Jones of Richmond. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren: Missie (Shane) Frantz, Zachary Miceli, Dillon Kriner, Alexis Kriner, Nicole Kriner, Michelle Kriner, Chuckie, Kenny, and Danny White, Gracie and Chloee Jones; two great-great-grandchildren: Zander and Chase Miceli; and one sister, Shirley Gregory of Vista, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, Robert (Bud) Kirker; three sisters: Almeda Kirker, Eleanor Ross Jones, and Emma Gray; and one infant grandson.
Friends will be received at the Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel, Inc. from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, June 26, 2016, and an additional hour of calling on Monday, June 27, 2016, from 10 a.m. until the hour of services.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2016, with Reverend John White officiating. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Arrangements are under the care of Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel. Inc., DuBois.
