I have known my union brother Doug for over forty years. He is the one that got me involved in union activism. Eventually succeeding him as president of our local. I can not begin to tell you how many people got helped in his role on the Employee Assistance Program. Not
Just union members but anyone that needed help. He had changed so many peoples lives and made this a better world. A life well lived.

My husband Ken and I started talking to Doug on our early morning walks about 5 or 6 years ago. We saw him almost every day (until recently) He was a great kick start to each day. He was always so positive and lots of fun. He will be greatly missed by us.
Our condolences to his wife Terri, and his son Rick. Rick has really had his hands full, and does a wonderful job. So very sorry for your loss!

I met Doug two years ago when I moved to Palm Springs. I would frequently see him on my early morning walks, and soon we started chatting and shared occasional life stories. He always seemed to me to be a gentle giant - frequently offering up words of encouragement to stay healthy and enjoy a more relaxed life style in Palm Springs. He'd carry a pocketful of apples to accompany him on his walks. I will miss his sweet smile and conversation. My condolences to his family and loved ones.
