David Jerome Gordon
Dave passed away on September 24, 2017 at the age of 75 at his home in Pioneertown.
Dave was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to Donald and Marjorie Gordon. He received his Bachelors and Masters in Education, as well as Education Specialist degree from Indiana University.
Dave worked in the Martinsville school system as a history teacher then Principal for many years before moving to California and working in the Desert Sands Unified School District. He was the assistant principal at Indio Middle before moving to the district office as the coordinator of Child Welfare and Attendance. Dave touched the lives of many students and staff with his gentle and caring ways.
Dave's daughters,Elizabeth Gordon and Janet Walters preceded him in death. Wife Liz Gordon, stepdaughters Nicole Bennett and Breana Rogers, and grandchildren Sydney, Trace, and Emersyn Bennett survive him.
Services for Dave Gordon will be held at 11am on September 30th at Pioneertown Chapel on Mane Street.

So very sad to lose a very dear friend, classmate and such a GOOD PERSON all wrapped up in one! Many wonderful memories. My sincere condolences to Liz and the families.....Cling to all the good memories you have...Dave will be missed by many but there is some comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering. May you REST IN PEACE my good buddy!

Not only was he my father-in-law at one point in my life, Dave was a great friend and mentor to me. I looked forward to spending time with him no matter what we were going to do. He was so cool . I can't remember feeling anything but happy when I was around him. He was such a blessed gentleman. Now as a school administrator myself, I would be lucky to have a fraction of Dave's wisdom and charisma. I feel privileged to have known Dave and I will miss him greatly.

Dave was one of our best neighbors in Sky Valley for several years, and he became a special friend. We missed him when he moved to Pioneertown, and now we will miss him even more. Our condolences to Liz and the girls.
