Raymond George Eberhard
Palm Springs - Raymond George Eberhard from Palm Springs passed away at home on Thursday, September 19, 2019 with his beloved wife Ginny and their dog Sparky by his side. He was 77. He was born March 19, 1942 to Wilbert and June Eberhard in Cleveland Ohio. He attended schools in Cleveland, Ohio and was recruited in 1960 to play football for Arizona State University. He earned a bachelor's degree from ASU, a master's degree from Cal State Northridge and a doctorate in Adult Education Administration from National Christian University in Dallas, Texas.
He spent the majority of his career in the California State Department of Education, first as Assistant Director of Adult Education and later the California State Administrator for Adult Education from 1988-1997. During that time he also developed the National Drop-Out Prevention program and was a member of the Aspen Institute for Humanistic Studies. He moved to Palm Springs in 1997 and continued his distinguished career as Dean of Workforce Development and Executive director of Facilities and Planning at San Bernardino Community College.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Virginia Donnellan Eberhard and their nieces Elizabeth and Amy, nephews Brian and Daniel and nine grand nieces and nephews. He is also survived by two children from a previous marriage.

A service is planned on Thursday, October 24 at 11:00 a.m. at the Center for Spiritual Living, 2100 East Racquet Club Drive, Palm Springs.
