Glen Alan Perry
August 20, 1948 - February 28, 2020
Glen Alan Perry, age 71, passed away peacefully of natural causes at his home where he and his loving wife, Patricia (Patti), happily lived. Glen was born August 20, 1948 in Glendale, California to Norma and Wilbur Perry.
As a southern California life-long resident, Glen was an outdoorsman from a young age. He participated in the Boy Scouts and baseball primarily as a pitcher, and was named Prom King in high school. As a teenager and young adult, Glen discovered golf and was a ski instructor at Snow Valley. He excelled at golf by achieving 4-handicap, and in his later years 8-handicap. Glen won numerous tournaments and landed several holes-in-one. Glen treasured companionship with his golf friends above his accomplishments.
He also excelled in academics. Glen graduated in 1970 from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, after which he became a Certified Public Accountant. Having relocated to Palm Springs in 1976, he operated a CPA firm until retirement in 2010.
Glen married Lisa Riordan with whom he had two children, Jennifer and Wesley. He remarried in 1980 and his family expanded to include Glen and Denise. The family took many summer vacations to Lake Tahoe, stopping along the way in Stockton to visit Glen's brother, Tom and his wife Susie and children Thomas and Christopher.
He enjoyed retirement by keeping his accounting skills sharp doing pro bono services for the Palm Springs Lions Club where he was an active member for years. Naturally Glen played golf up to three times each week. Having married Patti after retirement, they enjoyed travels around the world together and with their church. Glen regularly texted his children just to wish them a good day.
Glen Perry was a man with a warm heart and honest character, holding unconditional love toward family. He made those around him feel welcome with his glowing smile, comfortable with his hugs, and relaxed with his calm nature.
Glen is survived by his wife Patti of Palm Desert; daughter Jennifer of Palm Springs; son Wesley, daughter-in-law Brigid and granddaughter Raegan of Granite Bay, CA; extended son Glen and daughter-in-law Kim of Blythe, CA; extended daughter Denise, son-in-law Chris and grandson Huck of Loomis, CA; and his brother Tom and sister-in-law Susie and nephews Thomas and Christopher and their families.
May Glen know how much he was truly loved and be at peace home with God. A celebration of Glen's life will be held at a time to be determined. Contributions are welcomed in Glen's name to a charity of your choice.
