Rhonda Mills
On April 2, 2020, Rhonda Mills left us to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She lived a long and joyous life and is dearly missed.
Rhonda was born on December 14, 1950 in Indio, CA. She was the only daughter of Wanda Mauldin Azvedo and Edward Azvedo. She was raised by her grandparents Hary and Della Council in Coachella, CA. Rhonda lived her entire life in the Coachella Valley, attending elementary and middle school in Coachella and graduating Coachella Valley High School, where her children and grandchildren also attended.
Rhonda worked at John Kelly Elementary School first as a yard duty supervisor and then later as a Media Technician.
She married Larry Mills on May 27, 1967 in Utah and they were married for 52 years at the time of her death.
Some of her greatest joys in life were spending time with family. She always enjoyed going to any event that her grandchildren or great-grandchildren participated in. This includes traveling for softball tournaments, band performances, drama performances and camping with her family. Her favorite time of year was Christmas, and happily celebrated at her house with her loved ones.
Rhonda is survived by her husband Larry Mills, daughters Stephanie Reyes, Stacene Reyes, son in law Phillip Reyes, and son Joshua Mills. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren Raeleen, Gary, Jr., Jonathan, Cameron, Layla, Kendall and Hailey. Also, her great-grandchildren Riley, Semara, Maliki, Julia and Jonathan Jr. She also leaves behind her three sisters Diane Del Rosario, Jaci Pompa of California, and Lori Smith of Missouri, and three brothers Ric Larsen of Hawaii, Joe Place and Chris Place of California.
A memorial service will be held at a date later to be determined.
