Charles L. Nobles, 70, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2017 at Linda E. White Hospice House.
Charlie was born in Henderson, Kentucky on June 13, 1947 to the late William E. and Mary Ida (Denton) Nobles. He honorably served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War before retiring from ALCOA after 36 years. Charlie deeply loved his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He always attended his grandchildren's sporting events and loved riding with his dog, Max, in his truck, Ole Yeller. Charlie will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Charlie is survived by his wife of 46 years, Gladys (Buckman) Nobles of Henderson, KY; daughters, Phyllis Nobles of Henderson, KY, and Cheryl McGovern (Philip) of Henderson, KY; son, Eric Nobles of Henderson, KY; sisters, Nancy Nobles of Henderson, KY, Betty Landers of Henderson, KY, Ruby Poole (Buddy) of Henderson, KY, and Mary Martin (Steve) of Mt. Washington, KY; brother, Larry Gene Nobles (Sondra) of Henderson, KY, and James Ray Nobles (Tina) of Henderson, KY; sister-in-law, Carolyn Nobles of Henderson, KY; grandchildren, Chelsey Carnahan, Dylan Burton, Morgan and Justin Ralph, and William Nobles; great-grandchildren, Kaylin, Ryker, Kenna, Aria, Avree, and Jaxsper.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; son, Daryl Oglesby; and brother, Bill Nobles.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Brother Keith Griffin officiating. The American Legion Worsham Post # 40 will conduct military rites. Following the service there will be a Life Celebration Dinner at the St. Joseph Community Room, 505 Third St. Henderson, KY.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 1809 Grimes Ave., Owensboro, KY 42303.
