Margaret Rose Thurby, 76 of Abilene, Kansas formerly of Corydon, KY passed away February 13, 2018. She was born May 10, 1941 in Henderson Co. to Luther and Hazel Bowley.
Rose had worked at Kmart for 13 years as manager. She was a member of the Eastern Star Corydon Chapter, member of Eastview Baptist Church and a KY Colonel. She graduated from Henderson Co. High School in 1959.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 4 brothers; Tom Ed Bowley, Marvin Bowley, Paul Bowley, J. D. Bowely, 2 sisters; Ruth Ann Gibson and Doris Bird.
Rose is survived by 2 sons; Michael Thurby (Lenora) of Arvada, Colorado and Bobby Glenn Thurby and wife Dena of Warm Springs, Oregon, 6 grandchildren; Alex Thurby (Jessica), Emily Thurby (Kevin), Nicholas Thurby, Bobby Glenn Thurby, Jr.(Shirelle), Dot Thurby and Chad Thurby, 1 great granddaughter; Aria Rose Thurby, half -sister; Teresa Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services will be Saturday, February 17, 2018, 1:00 PM at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson. Rev. Rudy Moser will officiate. Visitation will be Friday, 4:00 PM-8:00 PM and Saturday, 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Perry Gene Bowley, David Gibson, Paul Titzer, Jerry Jennings, Bobby Gene Thurby, Jr. and Chad Thurby. Honorary Pallbearers will be Alex Thurby, Jacob Bowley, Matthew Williams, Nicholas Thurby, Emily Thurby, Dot Thurby, Sonny Bristow and Terry Lee Bowley.
