Juanita Pritchett
Juanita Pritchett, 85, widow of Charles E Pritchett, died Sunday, October 29, 2017 at 8:30 PM at her residence in Beaufort, SC with her children at her side.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Anderson Funeral Home 611 Robert Smalls Parkway, Beaufort. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM in the Carl Anderson Memorial Chapel. Interment will be in the Beaufort National Cemetery at 12:00 noon.
Juanita was born July 3, 1932 in Henderson, KY to the late Frank "Jack" and Blanche Shelton.
She has always been a lover of gardening and crafts. She was blessed with a green thumb. All she had to do was put some dirt, water and add a little love around her flowers, and you could see the results in a few short weeks. She had the ability to look at any object and if she decided she wanted to make it, she would make her own pattern and away she would go. If you could only see some of her beautiful crafts, you would understand what I am saying.
Juanita's late husband, Charles, was a 1st Sgt. in the Marine Corps. After retiring, they started their own business called Prepaid Legal Services. They worked together for over 20 years both reaching the status of Director.
Juanita is survived by four sons, Jodie (Joni) Embrey of Beaufort, SC, Greg Pritchett (Angie) of New Mexico, Dennis Pritchett of Kentucky and Chuckie Pritchett of Iowa and one daughter, Linda (Embrey) Shackelford of Beaufort, SC. She has two grandsons, Clay (Janel) Embrey of Navarres, FL and Blake (Layla) Embrey of Atlanta, GA and 6 great grandchildren, Gavin, Laney, Kaylee, Chanler, Clarissa and Ciley. She also has one brother, Donald (Jeanie) Shelton of Henderson, KY
Our family would like to take this opportunity to thank the members of the Friends of Caroline Hospice located at 1110 13th Street Port Royal, SC 29935 for all their help, support, love and kindness they showed our family during this very critical time of our Mother's care. Special thanks to Jessica Lasegne, RN and April Hogan, CNA who went above and beyond their call of duty every day. In lieu of sending flowers, we are asking that you make a donation to this organization so they can continue to help others.

Thank you for being friends with me. The short time we had together was funny. I loved your wit, I knew there was no holding you back from saying what you had to say. You have a good and faithful daughter. You raised her well. I will see you when I get there.

It's only been a week since you went home to be with Pop, but it already seems like a lifetime. I just want you to know that I loved you with all my heart and even though sometimes we disagreed on things, we would always work them out. I want to thank you for all you have ever done for me. You were such a caring person that loved life. I hope and pray you are enjoying your life once again. Thank you for help molding me into the person I am today. You sacrificed so much for us kids so we could have what we needed in life. I only hope one day I can measure up to the woman, Mom and wife you were. I thank God for you each and every day. Rest in peace, Mom. I love and miss you so much.
