Norman Ray Green
Henderson, KY
Norman Ray Green, age 83, of Henderson, KY, joined his wife Darlene in the presence of Jesus on February 22, 2018 at Redbanks Nursing Home under the care of St. Anthony's Hospice.
Ray was born on June 12, 1934. He worked for the City of Henderson, Fairmont Cemetery and Chrysler Corporation before moving to North Carolina. He was retired from truck driving for one of the textile mills in North Carolina. Along the way Ray learned to be an upholster and for many years he was self employed and was in demand for the beautiful upholstery work he did. For the last year Ray has been a resident at Redbanks Nursing Home where everyone was helpful and caring. Ray was a member of Airline Baptist Church where he loved to sing God's praises, he also enjoyed to sing at Redbanks Towers, and Redbanks Nursing Home. He loved life and joking with people. He especially loved his great great nephew, Landon "Little Big Man" Watson.
Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene, second wife, Daphne, parents, Carl and Marie Green, a brother, Carl Eugene Green, a baby brother, James Earl at 6 months, and a good friend, Betty Thompson.

Grandchildren: Missy Green of Huntersville, NC, and Emily Dauwe of Charlotte, NC
Great Granddaughter: Sidney Ann Dauwe of Charlotte, NC
Sister and Caregiver: Venida Pfeffer and husband James
Sister: Barbara Crawford and husband Jack
Brother: Ernest Green and wife V. Darlene
Nieces and Nephews all of Henderson, KY
Good friend: Jean of Henderson, KY
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Redbanks Nursing Home, St. Anthony's Hospice and Benton-Glunt Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Airline Baptist Church with Reverend Nathan Whisnant and Brother Tim Shockley officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the service time at the church.
Expressions of sympathy may take form of contribution to Airline Baptist Church Children's Church, The Diabetes Association of Gideon's International.
