Gordon Eberts was a unique individual in so many ways!!! He was a true Renaissance man.....
A man with strong beliefs, and values. His intellect was amazing!

We became friends when I was in my first year at McGill. He exuded great charm, and at the same time he was very down to earth!

As we both married and became parents, our conversations, stopped for a while, and then they continued.
I wanted my husband Leon to meet him, and we had a few very pleasant evenings. They enjoyed each other.

When we chatted he talked a great deal about his children and then his grand children.....
He took enormous happiness and pride in your accomplishments and your success!
Most of all he treasured his family!!!!

I send you all my very deepest and most sincere
sympathy for your very great loss !!

There will never be anyone else like him!

Heart felt condolences to you all!

With profound sympathy,

Paula Luxenberg Root

There will never be anyone like your Father.

One of my dearest memories of 5 years working at Gordon Capital was the time I was asked to be Gordie's shadow--to learn from him and be able to explain to others what he was doing. The first was easy. The second more challenging as he was always several steps ahead, mentally, from what was visible on the ground. When asked about that he would just smile and say something like--stick around, you'll see. He was infinitely patient and kind. My final memory is running into him at Terroni having lunch. He saw me and yelled out --come join me, Tommy. We had a great lunch and he excused himself to ride his bike down to Princess Margaret. Perhaps now he is explaining "back to back preferred" deals to his newest client.
