I will always hold His Excellency, the Most Reverend John M. Sherlock, Bishop of London in the highest esteem and with the greatest of respect and love. He confirmed me in the eighth grade and blessed my calling to the Franciscan Religious Life. Many years later he was present as I made my first profession of vows. He will be deeply missed.

Eternal rest, grant unto him, O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen.

I would like to offer sincere Condolences, in particular to Eleanor and Ed Monaghan. I and my husband John ( deceased Jan.2019) graduated SMC 1951. Archbishop Michael Mulhall pf the Diocese of Kingston, is my nephew, the son of Maureen (Hickey) and Vernon Mulhall (SMC 1947) who reside in Peterborough. With respect for Bishop Sherlock.

We remember Fr. Sherlock then(pre Bishop hood) as our religious teacher at McMaster University during the early'60s. He made our course so very interesting that students of other faiths joined our RC class. I particularly valued his guidance and counsel as I was the President of Newman Club at Mac. We corresponded for a number of years. His presence was a blessing.
