The sad news arrived via a defunct email so I'm late in hearing about is. I must say it was a heartbreaker. I won't confess to shaking and sobbing because he probably would have gently called me silly. It was probably due to the scent of pine on a cool wisp of north wind.

There are some people who seem immortal in this lifetime. Their humour and wisdom is timeless. Michael was one such gentleman and it was largely because he lived his own life according to his own map. We should all be driven by such curiosity. He taught us by example. That's what artists do.

When we met Michael and Annick were loving each other .We were all part of a group of creative, talented people.Michael was very much the leader. He decided to direct a bunch of us in a film of his making. Very impromptu, very new wave film.It was a fantastic adventure to share with him. There would be large celebratory dinners and Annick would make salad for 100 in a garbage bag(clean). If Michael was there it was going to be a fun adventure. An artist , intellectual, fun, person. My sincere condolences to family and friends.arlene mayers

I am saddened to hear of Michael's passing. He was truly talented and not only was he my cousin but also my Godfather. He will be truly missed. May you all cherish the memories that you have of him and may they help you through this time of sorrow. God bless and take care.
