Shirley was a force. She was as you have stated a wise communicator - and a leader. I loved her sense of humor and sharing a laugh. She will be missed. Much love Shirley

Condolences to Shirley's family and sorry for your loss. It was a privilege to work at the Health Council of Canada with Shirley for the few years I was there. In a world where there can be so much b.s. and people often do not say what they want or mean, Shirl could always be counted on for her no-nonsense, straight-forward style. She never hesitated to say what needed to be said and could be trusted to put things right where they were at, whether it was good or bad traits I came to admire. Shirley cared and was passionate and was always clear on her positions and where she stood on things. She went out of her way to share her contacts with me and to help me take my next professional steps when the HCC closed. For that I will always be grateful.
