Alice "Gummy" Devea
Alice "Gummy" Devea, age 69, of Joliet, IL, passed away July 30, 2021. She was born August 22, 1951 in Chicago, IL to the late Albert Redman.
Alice grew up in the New Lenox/ Frankfort, IL area. She graduated from Lincolnway High School, Class of 1969. She retired from Will County Health Department, where she worked as a secretary. She enjoyed being creative and painting. Her special joy was spending time with her family.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Daniel Devea; loving sons, Tony (Chrissy) Devea and Chris (Alison) Devea; adoring grandchildren, Brianna and Anthony Devea & Braden and Colten Devea; dear sister, Diane (Dale) Samuel; special dog and companion, Lucy. Many Nieces, nephews, and dear friends also survive.
Preceded in death by her father and sister, Evelyn Genes.
A special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Silver Cross Hospital for the care and compassion shown to Alice and her family.
The family of Alice Devea will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet. Inurnment will be held privately at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Joliet.
