Mr Quinn, Don, as you later insisted on me calling you, may you rest in enternal peace. So many memories, as a teacher you were without a doubt the most influential teacher of Norwalk High. You gave your best to your students, and demanded the same from them. But it was easy to return that because you made it so much fun! I remember during the dock strikes of New York you would be in the city all night protecting your father's business and then come straight to school without sleep. And you still gave your all to your students. You were a tough Irishman with a soft heart! I looked forward to our correspondence over the past few years and enjoyed hearing about your grandchildren and you were so gracious in listening to me gush about my Granddaughter. I will miss that very much but will rest in the knowledge that you are celebrating the birth of Christ with Himself this year! My heartfelt sympathy to the entire Quinn family.

Ah Mr Quinn, a man who knew how to be serious with a laugh. He was concerned but used comedy to express it. He cared about all of his students and some of us misfits walking the hall. Heck he made Shakespeare intelligible. Heartfelt condolences to the Quinn family. I owe him much.

My deepest condolences to the family of Mr. Quinn. You were a great teacher! I was very shy in your class but you made me read my essay out loud because you wanted to encourage the shy "writer" you saw in me. And I thank you for that. God Bless you!
