Hi Tammy, I am so sorry for your loss. Burt was a big supporter of my Welcome Backs coupon book, back in the 1980's, when I was at Cornell University. It was always a pleasure meeting with Burt. He was quite a character and I considered him a friend. It was very nice meeting you also at your home. Sincerely, Kevin Lipsitz

My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Reading this obituary brought back many memories for me. The cars, the dogs, and how he loved to tell a joke. Dr Markowitz was a great optometrist and a great employer as well. He taught me so much in the years that I worked for him. I will be forever grateful. Tammy, Lara and Stacy... my heart goes out to you all.

To the Markowitz Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Dr. M was my doc for many years and, in fact, my grandmother as well. He was always respectful and had a great sense of humor. When he told me that I needed bi-focals (at the age of 38), he told me I was getting to 'that age'. At the time I didn't 38 was 'that age' -- he was a good man.
