Dear friends, Bob and family, I was saddened earlier today when I received a call from a special Iowa friend, Kathy Rottink. She had news of Doris's passing. She and I as well as Doris were great friends 30+ years ago when my husband and I lived in Riceville, Iowa. After my husbands death, I moved to Brocton, NY. to be near family. It was so hard to leave friends that were like family. Over the years we lost touch, and I always wondered where these friends were and tried to make contact over the internet without much luck. I loved Doris and her family as if they were my own. We had many wonderful and fun times together, and made memories that are still dear to my heart. As a matter of fact, today, Kathy and I spent a lot of time remembering Doris and our time spent together. She was the sweetest lady, the best mom, and wonderful friend a person could have. I am saddened that she was having to deal with cancer. Just please know that she is in Heaven, always watching over you all, and smiling that beautiful smile of her's. God Bless you all and may he help you through these difficult times. Much love and prayers.
