CANTON, GA. - Deanna Workman Young, loving daughter, wife and the best sister ever, went to be with the Lord on January 8, 2021. She was 58. She was a nurse to thousands and friend to all. She touched so many hearts and lives with her vibrant personality and uplifting spirit.
Deanna was born in Columbus Ohio on September 10, 1962 to Archie and Virginia Workman. She graduated from Auburndale High School in 1980 and got her RN degree at Polk Community College on a basketball scholarship. She continued her education earning her BSN and Master's of Healthcare Administration.
Deanna was a nurse for 37 years.
She remained a competitive athlete all of her life running, biking and swimming. She also loved to hike, ski and she still enjoyed basketball.
Deanna was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years Dennis young, her mother Virginia Workman and her dog Dixie of 14 years. She is survived by her father Archie Workman, sister Tara Brittain, nephew Levi Ross, niece Tessa Ross, stepdaughters Merideth Walters and Jennifer Dawn Young, and three grandchildren Chase, Dawson and Grayson Walters.
A funeral Mass will be held at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church in Winter Haven Florida on Saturday, January 16 at 11 AM. She will be buried beside her husband Dennis Young, at Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
