J. (MOGG) ASHBY, 89

WINTER HAVEN - Phyllis J. (Mogg) Ashby, 89, died Thursday, January 3rd, 2019, of natural causes at the Brookdale Claire Bridge facility. Phyllis was born in Pontiac, MI on September 2, 1929. She married 1st Sgt. Blaine F. Ashby in Hazlehurst, NY on October 3, 1947.
Phyllis had a wonderful life with her husband and children. She, along with Blaine, lived the Army life traveling many places but settling in Winter Haven, FL in 1973. She enjoyed gardening, teaching, and the beautiful Florida sunshine. She was greatly loved and will be sadly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, her parents, two sisters, and one grandson. She is survived by one brother. She was a mother to 3 surviving children, Lynn Brown, Pennsylvania, Eric (Kathy) Ashby, Orlando, and Todd Ashby (Diane Nave), Winter Haven. There are 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Committal Services will be held at Florida National Cemetery at Bushnell at a later date.
