WINTER HAVEN - Mr. Verna Lee Stringer of Winter Haven, Florida passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018. He was 88. A native of High Springs, FL, born June 26, 1929 to William and Florence Stringer, Verna moved here in 1950 from Gilcrest County. He was a retired Mechanic from USS Agri-Chemical and was a member of the Garden Grove Assembly of God.
Verna was preceded in death by his wife Madeline, his son Clinton J. Stringer, and his daughter Mary Katherine Mullis. He is survived by his son Raymond Stringer (Shirley) of Bartow, FL, his brother Merlin Stringer of PA, and his sister Marie Strickland (Bill) of Bartow, FL. Verna also leaves behind 6 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5 to 7 PM at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. Funeral services will be 10AM Monday at the funeral home chap-el. Interment will be at Lakeside Memorial Park. Condolences to the family can be sent to: www.oakridgefuneralcare.com .
