I just learned of Rob's passing and I am saddened by it. I have known Rob for many years and have many fond memories such as the 2 a.m. potato po'boys at Clarence and Lefty's, Saturday nights at the bar in the bowling alley on Franklin Ave,summers at the camp on Haynes Blvd and a host of others that go back over 40 years. Rob can now meet up with the "Big Reel" and attend conventions to infinity and beyond. Rest in peace Rob.

I am so thankful to have known Robert. He was so generous and real. He had a temper but he also loved everyone and made sure that everyone was taken care of before himself. The world is a sadder place without him.

RIP Robert. I'll never forget the trip to Chicago in 1982 when the Dalek won the costume contest. I never would have gone if not for you.

Ann, family, friends, and fen my heart goes out to you all. We can hold on to the memories and support each other in our grief. This story will not end as long as we continue to remember and speak fondly of our Captain.

I have known Robert for 41 years. He was truly a very kind man with a great sense of humor. I am very saddened by his loss and I offer my condolences to Ann, Judy, and Ralph.

Robert was more than just a friend - he was my brother - not related by blood, but by life itself.
We shared many wonderful experiences - conventions, fan clubs, parties, meetings, planning, scheming, organizing. Always trying to make things bigger and better. He made a difference in so many lives and, in the process, created an extended, loving family. Even though we were apart for months at a time, when we got together it was like we just saw each other yesterday. That's a bond that goes deep.
He will be forever missed and forever remembered.
Good night, my Captain.

Robert has been my friend for over 30 years. We both attended the same college and shared our interest in science fiction. We became good friends along the years. Robert was a sincere, genuine friend. My deepest sympathy to Ann and Robert's extended family. Rob, God Bless you. I will miss you dearly. Fly high amongst the stars my friend. Love your dearest friend, Debbie.

He was a great presence at the New Orleans Science Fiction Conventions that my sister & I attended in the 90's. It is comforting to think of him & Joey Grillot together again as they were then.
