Guthrie was a dear cousin on my grandmother Edith's side of the family. I'm grateful for the few days I was able to fly to Monroe from Boise, Idaho to visit him in 2005. He loved to give tours of the area and we visited Bonnie and Clyde's last stand, Poverty Point, Epps, and Civil war battlefields. He never stopped moving with the energy of someone 40 years younger. I couldn't keep up with him!

My husband and I spent a fun-filled Boise Bronco vs LA Tech football game with him in 2010 and the next day he was off and running, giving friends the tour of Southern Idaho.

He was an amazing man and doctor and will be greatly missed. He touched so many lives. No doubt he's keeping the angels busy over there!

With blessings and love to all who knew Dr. Robert Guthrie Jarrell

Martha Anna and Joanna,
I was saddened to hear of your loss. I knew Dr. Jarrell as a result of being a Lady Techster from 1979-82. I remember him as an extremely kind and caring man who was always quick to provide any medical care necessary for our team. I know he loved Louisiana Tech.
I am a physician now and truly have been inspired by Dr. Jarrell's care and concern for his patients and only hope that I am able to emulate that towards mine.
Please know that you are both in my thoughts ad prayers during this extremely difficult time.
Dr. Rita Rust (Lady Techsters #52)
