It is with great sadness that the family of Philip Chadwick announce his passing which took place peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at the age of 78 with his family by his side. Beloved husband of Janet for 49 years. Philip was a loving father to Stephen (Kim) and Karen (Raul), and grandfather to Victoria, Elizabeth, Connor and Bradley. Born to the late Sidney and Gertrude Chadwick in Leigh, Lancashire, England, Philip attended Leigh Grammar School, Manchester University and later Salford University where he earned his PhD in Electrical Engineering. Philip started his career with General Electric in Philadelphia. He later moved to Winnipeg to pursue an opportunity with Teshmont Consultants. Philip and Janet met and were married in Winnipeg. Philip's expertise in Power Systems Engineering brought him to Canadian General Electric in Peterborough. In later years he started his own consulting business which he pursued until his retirement. Philip had a passion for anything technical and challenging. He had the ability to diagnose problems and repair just about anything. He enjoyed spending his leisure time boating with his family and travelling to Britain. Philip was a devoted and generous father and grandfather who greatly appreciated having family around him. Philip will be remembered for his sense of humour, intellect, loving heart and ever-determined nature. He will be dearly missed, and forever remain in our hearts.Philip was laid to rest on June 16 at Lakefield Cemetery following a private service. In his memory, donations may be made to the PRHC Foundation, Intensive Care Unit. Online condolences may be expressed at www.highlandparkfuneralcentre.com
