"Perhaps they are not stars in the sky but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down to let us know they are happy..." He touched many lives with his generosity and compassion. He will be missed by all who knew him.

My thoughts & prayers are with your whole family as you mourn the death of our dear friend Harlan. He was such a nice man, always helping someone else, and never wanting to take credit for his nice deeds. I left Indiana 33 years ago, and still talked to him on occasion. He was one of those guys you never forget! I am so happy that someday we can sit down and visit & catch up in heaven. I know where he will be, and where to find him. May God bless your family as you go through this difficult loss!

Dear Beer Family,

Thinking of you at this time, knowing that Harlan will be greatly missed. I hold fond memories growing up around Harlan as one of dad's best friends and later working with them both on occasion. Dad loved Harlan dearly. I'm grateful to have known such a generous man who created so many positive things in his life, family and community.
