Hosford, Daniel "Dano passed away on April 17, 2021, at home with his loved ones by his side.
He was predeceased by his father Richard "Dick".
Dan was dearly loved and will be missed by Louise, his wife of 38 years; son, Clinton (Sheena); daughter, Tina (Chris); mother, Jean; brother, Robert; sister, Polly (Ed); three granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews. Dan loved the outdoors and riding his Harley. One of his cherished memories was riding to Anacortes, Wa. for the Oyster Run & Motorcycle Rally with Clinton riding beside him. He also loved camping and fly fishing with family and friends. He taught himself to play the harmonica at a young age and had an extraordinary talent when playing his favorite genre "rhythm and blues". He was thrilled when he had the opportunity to play for an audience, in fact, he played at the legendary "Yale Hotel". One of Dan's highlights of his life was his children taking him to the Daytona 500 race in Florida, he was an avid Nascar fan and seldom missed a televised event. Another highlight was travelling to Hosford Island, off the coast of Port Hardy with Tina. The island was named in honour of his Uncle Charlie Hosford who served and lost his life in W.W.II. A very special moment for Dan and his family was witnessing the wedding of Tina & Chris at home, and giving her away to his new son in law Chris Gall. Dan and family are very grateful for the outpour of love and support from family and many friends throughout Canada and to Steve and Sue across the border.
A celebration of his life and a Memorial Ride will be post-COVID. An announcement of the details will be at a later date.

I had the privilege of getting to know "Danny" over the past 10 to 15 years. He always greeted me with a friendly smile and he was a true pleasure to converse with. He was extremely bright and was well versed in virtually any topic. I particularly appreciated that he never engaged in gossip and I never heard him say an unkind word about anyone. It always gave me a warm feeling to see him walking through the neighbourhood or socializing with friends in my back yard. I will miss that so very much.

Louise, Clinton and Tina- I'm so sorry for your loss. Too young and too soon.

Gone too soon, too young. Friendly and smart and a real pleasure to sit down with and have a logical talk, be it science and the environment, politics or old cars and motorsports. Dan was genuine with many friends and his passing is a great loss, not just to his family and closest confidants, but to all who knew him. R.I.P. Danny. Tony Caldwell

Growing up in NV I didn't really know Danny until recently through Kerrie. When he would come to visit my dogs would surround him with love and he loved them right back. Just an all around nice man. We will miss him.

Danny was a true friend, I am so grateful to have known Danny. We became very close last year and it just breaks my heart that he has been taken at such a young age. Thanks for all your help Dan around the house. Sure do miss you. See you on the other side of the stars.
