Robert Rodeheaver Obituary

Robert “Bob” Rodeheaver, 82, of North Wales, died Monday, August 21, 2017 following a courageous battle with bladder cancer. He was the husband of Bessie (Hill) Rodeheaver, his beloved wife of 64 years. Born March 12, 1935 in Jenners, PA, he was a son of the late Ruby (Sell) and Cecil Rodeheaver, Sr. Early in his career, Bob was employed with Hunter Spring, Hatfield. Later, he worked at John Evans’ Sons, Lansdale, for over 30 years, retiring as Plant Superintendent in 2000. Bob volunteered his time while his kids were growing with the Cannoneer’s football program as well as North Wales little league. He was a lifelong, dedicated Pittsburgh Steelers fan. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Robert A. Rodeheaver (Mary) of Danville, Deborah Caltabiano (Tom) of Perkasie, Beverly Wishart (Don) of Souderton, and Dean A. Rodeheaver of Hatfield; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Reckner of Jerome, PA; and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil and Thomas; and sister, Dorothy Wilson. He was well loved by everyone that knew him and will be missed by all. Relatives and friends may call after 11:30 a.m. Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale, followed by the Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Bob’s memory to North Penn or Indian Valley Boys & Girls Club, 16 Susquehanna Ave, Lansdale, PA 19446.

Not sure what to say?

My heartfelt condolences to Bessie and family. I was surprised to accidentally run into Bob at John Evans factory. I was a salesman and he was the supervisor. We were high school members and I was so pleased to remake our friendship. I remember him and Bessie as very warm, nice people. It was a pleasure to know him.
