It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of a great man, Art Berlingeri, on February 8, 2021 in his 67th year. Arty was a proud and passionate man who loved his family dearly. Art spent many years not only playing hockey, but also coaching. He will always always be remembered for the love of the sport and the care he gave to the young players. His sense of humour always made people smile and his many years as a Body Shop Manager allowed him to share his silly jokes and many funny stories. He will be missed deeply by his partner of 32 years, Sherry, and his sons Blake and Brent. He will also be missed by his brother Greg (Linda) Tony (Judy) and his sisters Anne and Barb, son Stephen, grandchildren and many life long friends. Many heartfelt thanks to co-workers neighbours, friends and family for supporting us through this difficult time. His family would also like to thank the Juravinski Intensive Care Unit for the compassion and care they provided to Arty in his final moments. Cremation has completed. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

So sorry to hear the sad news. I always enjoyed talking to Art and he was a great help many a time with body shop issues for customers and myself.
But the best conversations were about hockey. He truly loved the game.
We played against each other for years, along with Tony & Greg. Great fun.
My deepest sympathies to Art's family.

Please accept our deepest condolences. Art was such an example of how a man can be genuine and kind. He coached my son at Chedoke and was always the first to offer help with rides etc when he knew I needed it. The Berlingeri family made our time at the rink such a fun and positive experience.

Dear Sherry, Blake, Brent & Family:
Please accept my sincere heartfelt condolences to you, your families, and friends of Arty, He was a dear friend, I was shocked and saddened to learn of his passing and sorry that I didn't get the opportunity to say goodbye! A professional to say the least, who had integrity, always had a smile, a joke and no matter how busy, would make the time to help in any way that he could. Over the years, we enjoyed many smoke breaks, jokes/laughs and he always went the extra mile for myself and my family, ensuring that he provided the best help and support that a friend could!
May the many good memories of the different facets of Arty give you comfort and strength as time passes!
Arty has ended his watch honourably and he will be missed by all of us.
Sincere sympathy,
Sandy & Kirby MacMillan

He left us quiet
His thoughts unknown
But left us a memory
We are proud to own.
So treasure him Lord
In your garden of rest
For when he was on earth
He was one of the best.

So very sorry Sherry and family. Art and I shared a special deep and meaningful relationship. We discussed little things like fatherhood, partnership, love and integrity...little things!...Neither of us had time for the superficial banter usually assigned to men in a locker room. I will miss him. He was my friend.

Art was a great guy and someone I will greatly miss. Art was always there to give me advice, whether it was on how to referee hockey games, helping me fix my car when I couldn’t afford it, or sharing stories and experiences that both of us knew only too well on how to deal with life at its most unimaginably difficult times. He always had a smile and kind calming words to say when others forgot that we were all fighting our own battles. Friday nights will never be the same without you Art. Rest In Peace Brother!

Our deepest condolences to you Sherry, Blake and Brent. We’re still in shock of the news and having a hard time in believing it. It was a great time for the 20+ years that we were on the ice and bench together with the our boys. The countless hours / weekends from fall to spring spending time together at all the arenas really showed his commitment to family. I guess that’s why we were so close in understanding each other. He filled a big part in our hearts and will be forever missed. Sorry you had to go Art .. our love Richard, Cindy, Michael, Christopher and Daniel

At was a very good friend and part of our family. I new Art for over 60 years and I could always depend on him for a lending hand or if he needed anything I was there to help him mainly working around the house. We used to ride our bikes in the Hess Street play ground and I would go an watch him play hockey all over the city. We used to out on Friday nights and cruised the streets after that in our cars. Art had a 69 Belmont, 396, 525 HP, HT. I had a 74 Challenger with a 383, 575 HP from factory. I will miss you dearly my friend.
