Condolences to Eileen's family...
December-06-18
We will always remember Eileen as a good neighbour and friend when we lived on Hounslow Ave.
December-06-18
Eileen will be missed by all of her friends from the People's Church.
Linda, Catherine, Joy, Judy and Duncan and my husband John and I, to name just a few.
What a blessing it was to have her in our lives!
Her sense of humour was her trademark and she never let anything stop her from "getting on with it" and being so thankful for the simple joys in life. (I NEVER met anyone who lived for a tomato sandwich, or an egg salad sandwich, no onions please) like Eileen , or her love of a chocolate bar (just ask Linda how her voice would light up with the news a candy goody bag was on the way!), or a Worthers- she once confessed she ate a whole bag in one afternoon!!!
She dearly loved her family and counted us as her friends, and even though we tried to comfort her as her health declined, she blessed us with her laughter and solid and down to earth "advice", and more often than not, she was indeed, "the blessing"!
Wherever she was in her life, whether in a small town in northern Ontario as a child and young women, to her house on Horsham where she raised her three children, (and also enjoyed her beloved dog), or later in her cherished condo in Willowdale, she was so proud and happy!
She took pride in being able to be self sufficient and capable, and hold it all together, no matter what came her way.
She developed friendships with neighbours wherever she lived, and while in Cambridge, (Margie in particular-her caregivers) kept people in stitches with her wit and intellect.
I know I am a better person to have known and loved this tiny "jewel" of a lady.
We pray she is in heaven, to join once again her wonderful Husband, and her son Glen (lost too young) and pray we will see her there again too!
I will profoundly miss her, so steadfast and courageous and FUNNY !!! She brightened my days.
She was a friend like no other.
My sympathies to Gary , Kathy, Laura and Bill, William, Michael and Ryan.
Truly,
Louise
