Kevin CHISHOLM Obituary

CHISHOLM, Kevin Joseph Uxbridge, Ontario (formerly of Markham and Toronto, Ontario) It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the death of our beloved Kevin. Kevin passed away peacefully with family by his side on August 3, 2020, at Providence Healthcare, Toronto. Born in Heatherton, Antigonish County, on January 16, 1947, Kevin was the son of Mary and A.W. (Bill) Chisholm (deceased). He is survived by his devoted wife Helen (nee Whitley) of 48 years and his children, Caroline, Jeff (Tiffany), Todd (Brigid) and Leanne (Matthew); and his much loved grandchildren, Sarah, Alex, Kieran, Grady Bennett, Marin, Maggie, Claire, Eleanor and Cecelia. Kevin was the second eldest of ten children and is survived by Bob (Andrea), Jack (Debbie), Fr. Greg, Jerome (Carol), Paul (Ann Marie), Bernie (Debby), Mary (Peter), Jimmy and Janet (John); beloved Aunt Almira MacPherson; and a multitude of cherished nieces, nephews and cousins. Though he faced his share of challenges, he never wavered in his faith, which guided and supported him throughout his life. He will be missed for his smile, his laughter, his voice, his jokes, and his kind heart. May he rest in peace; he touched so many and we were all so blessed to have him in our lives. Visitation will take place at the Low & Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street South, Uxbridge (905-852-3073), on Sunday, August 9, 2020, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. In keeping with COVID-19 Regulations from the Bereavement Authority of Ontario, all attendees are asked to wear a mask or face covering, maintain social distancing and the capacity within the building will be limited throughout the visitation time. A Private Family Mass of Christian Burial will take place at the Sacred Heart Church, followed by interment at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Uxbridge. If desired, memorial donations to the Sacred Heart Church, Uxbridge, would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences can be made at www.lowandlow.ca.

So very sad to hear of Kevin’s passing .I grew up with the Chisolms as part of the “Norlong gang”
My sisters Jill and Debbie (both now deceased) also shared these memories of Kevin and his brothers and sisters.
Such an awesome family and their faith was instrumental in my converting to the Catholic faith after Nursing school
Fond memories of the friendship with the older children and the younger ones who I babysat
My heart is broken for all of you
Love and prayers ❤

It doesn't mention it in his obituary but what I will remember about Kevin will be his contribution to the recreation community in East York. I had the pleasure of being on Council and got to know how valuable he was to our community. He was bery much involved as staff with our Canada Day celebrations and made many friends. Although Toronto is mentioned East York was more what represents who Kevin was. Friendly, homey and just a plain good guy! RIP Kevin

Dear Helen and family:,
I am so very sorry to read of Kevin’s passing. We went to grade school together at Canadian Martyrs and he was so helpful organizing our reunion over 30 years ago. I remember his infectious laugh, his bright smile and his sense of humour. We spent many nights at the hospital following his accident and still he found time to smile. One particular evening there was an extra amount of noise coming from his room and rather than ask us to leave the nurses just shut the door. And, it was Kevin that made us laugh. Rest In Peace my friend.

We send our deepest sympathy to Helen and family. Although we have known Kevin for only 5 years, from the time we met he endeared himself to us. From his warm friendly smile, his quick wit, laughter and amazing voice, Kevin made you feel welcomed as he shared his love of God to others. Kevin will be truly missed by all whose lives he touched. May he rest in peace with our Heavenly Father, the angels and saints.
