Dear Kristen,
I want to thank you for including me over the years, in some of the many wonderful events you have created in Toronto. I looked forward each year to attending Botanicus Art Ensemble celebrations at Mac Gregor Park and was thrilled to be a part of the Water Pouring Ceremony at Luminata in 2008.
Thank you for your welcoming and inclusive spirit, your inspiration and creative contributions to Toronto and her people. I have always seen you as a fearless creator, able to get the dream on the page and into the world.
As you cross this threshold, I see you welcomed with open arms and much celebration for a life well lived.
You are a truly remarkable woman and I send my love and thanks to you for touching my life.

A very important person I met in Canada who played a lot of music with me in the Batucada Carioca group. Super elegant and classic playing her Shaker ... Determined to do things well. I did some work with her at McGregor park, where she also had love and sympathy in what she did. This taught me a lot.
In some of my moments of fatigue in leading the band, she also told me that I could never stop. That it was too late, because what I gave to people was something I could never take away from them. And we are continuing.

Love you Kristen.
Obrigado.

My old friend Kristen, I miss you terribly. We met way back, soon after I returned to Canada at the beginning of the 90's. We were working together for a children's performer, me as a musician, and she in wardrobe. We hit it off right away and remained great friends ever since. Even though I moved from Toronto, we could always just pick up where we left off.....her spirit lives on, and she's left wonderful legacies in all manner of forms throughout this city she loved so much!

I had the good fortune to collaborate with Kristen at MacGregor Playground in my role with the City of Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation division. Kristen was a wonderful partner, passionate about the park and the kids and families; talented; collaborative and attuned to the needs of the City bureaucracy while always pushing us to do more and be better. It was a wonderful partnership and her presence at the park will be felt for decades to come through her artwork, the upcoming fieldhouse renovations she championed, and the memories. Her leadership and cheer will be greatly missed.

My sisters and I were really saddened to hear of Kristin's passing. We grew up with the Fahrig family in the Honey Gables enclave outside Ottawa. Over the years we would hear about the amazing creative work Kristin was doing. She was a passionate , committed , thoughtful person and artist. Our heartfelt sympathy to her family. --the Stolee family
